When on the journey of self there are often little stirrings.
Those little butterflies inside of nervousness, anticipation and excitement. In a dream I saw this image.
Someone stretched out light shining on them perhaps through a window casting a soft shadow silhouette.
Part of the shadows formed however where those of little butterflies glowing like they were made of coloured glass.
No physical butterflies could be seen however just the shadows, just like not all parts of ourselves can always be seen yet look inside and they are there!

In the middle ages before science understood “cells” it was thought life came from the “Animicule”. A little bubble with a tiny human or creature inside. It made sense back then after all was not a seed a little pod with an unborn tree or plant?
In the light of consciousness little Animicules are formed and help shape the world.
The subconscious, more active in the shade of the night’s contemplation stirring all the fantasies of the world. Illusive and often not fully formed but enough to fuel the magical fascination and imaginings of the corporeal world’s inhabitants.
Once you make it through your journey what will your world look like?

An acorn is simply a grand tree just waiting to grow.
In some sense it is like the Philosopher's stone, the pure element on which to work to create greater things.
Here our little traveller has found their acorn and now the true journey can begin.

Separation Armageddon

The fiery Knight appears with his blazing sword! It is time for the step of Separation.
The whole world may feel like it is falling apart! Being destroyed! However now that you have gotten rid of the rubble and swum around in your subconscious, you may be faced with the fact that the current reality is not really who you are.
It is time to separate from certain elements of your life,
even though it may feel difficult. It is however a step which will happen eventually anyway whether we like it or not as it makes space for the growth and potential of better things.
Often things which are more in alignment with the real self.

This is a time for cleansing, nourishing the little King and Queen in each of us.
A time to swim freely in the flow of the conscious and subconscious mind.
Yet these royals swim among the hidden dragons for whilst such a time can be liberating, it can also be confronting, overwhelming once faced with the raw you.

Journey of the Stone
The journey of the Stone is one of transformation for it is that of the Philosopher's. A journey of digging inside, removing unnecessary layers and barriers. Discovering the true
essence purifying it revealing that golden truth. For the Alchemist on a physical more Scientific level it was the transforming base metals into gold, but on a spiritual level it is a personal transformation. What is the gold inside of you?
Initially the journey began in 2009 when 3 paintings inspired by reading about the Emerald tablet were created. Two were sold before any further development of a show or collection could be realized, but always in the back of the mind was the desire to further explore the topic and create a full collection. Over time various ideas came up. Other journeys leading to collections being created on different subjects, but the thought to re-visit this idea and reimagine a new collection lingered in the psyche. In 2018 the vision began to slowly re-surface.
Then 2020 came, with all its’ upheaval. The world shut down all across the globe, I suddenly found myself stuck at home not knowing what would happen next. Yet amongst all of the turmoil, finally the creative juices started to flow.
It seemed like I and the world around me were going through all the stages. I was left to explore myself, my inner thoughts, to work through the blockages, to turn the situation around and work toward the vision of better things and as that happened, so the work flowed through me and this collection is the result.

World travels, music, folk culture, connecting with others, self, the earth and ancestral roots.
Holdvilág - Hungarian for moonlight and the name of the band in which I play.
The word világ on its own means world. So one could also almost say ‘hold the world’ perhaps giving the world a hug!
This was the first in the series to be painted yet it is also a completion of the journey.
The nursing of one's own world. A culmination of all that has been collected from that which is held most dear.
Echoing from the past, connecting with present experience and contemplating under the moonlight of the future. A complete and ever turning cycle.

Inspired by the Alchemical stage of burning off the dross but also from a trip back in January 2020, to Australia where fires had been raging since late October the previous year!
Looking out as I flew over I could see scorched landscapes, or just smoky fog, the smell of the smoke filling the air as we left the plane.
I was going to clear out stuff I had stored there, and with the constant smell of smoke hanging over me like a warning to be ruthless yet mindful in a sense it was my time to burn off the dross of my past.
Now the Crow sits waiting to see where things will go next!
