Welcome to 2023! Hope it marks the beginning of much prosperity, creativity and joy for everyone.
Here at Art of Melush, we are excited as there are many little seeds being nurtured into new projects. Art of Melush has grown beyond just traditional art pieces. With a little inspiration and prodding from Sugo the Inspiration Imp I have been delving more into music and writing. Even though I have a long history of playing traditional music, making my own has only been in the past few years.
So maybe you might think, what kind of artist is Melinda? A painter? A musician? I am often asked this. But as an artist, my creative mind is drawn to all types of creation! Sugo understands, (that’s why I made him my logo!) Sometimes when a creative vision comes, well it just comes! In what ever way that it does! It may be a dream, an image appearing in my mind. It may be fueled by research, or inspired by an experience. Sometimes words fill my head as if my subconscious is telling me parts of a story or scene. Sometimes it is a melody, that suddenly starts playing in my brain. Sometimes the lyrics are clear and other times seem nonsensical (but Sugo tells me this is his fairy/imp language coming through!)
At the end of the day, as an Artist, why should creation be limited to one thing? I find one feeds the other. I make music and then the images and stories begin coming. I create in any other medium, the same happens for the others. If you check out my YouTube, you will hear little snippets of songs, see some of my paintings animated as well as other animations and stories. You may notice at the end it says music by Bardboz. And yes, Bardboz is me. (with the occasional guest).
Recently I have started a new series Story telling Saturdays. Below is the latest episode to welcome 2023. It is about one of my more recent paintings and has a special message that welcomes the New Year.
With all these new ideas expressed in all different ways, I am working on projects which will bring everything together as well as things which stand alone. I hope you will join me on my journey this year as their will be many new stories, new projects, new music and new art. Remember being creative is just that. Don’t place yourself into a box. Creativity wants to grow, expand, find new horizons, new mediums of expression and in this new year, let’s see where that growth takes us!
