The Festive Season at Art of Melush

The days are getting darker and colder as winter approaches, but for Art of Melush things are lighting up and heating up for this festive season! Both with art and music and everything in between!

The festive Season kicks of this Saturday (Dec 3) Melush will be performing with her band Holdvilág as part of the Saint Nick Festivities with the Hungarian House of New York. During the day, there will be all sorts of arts and crafts activities with of course a visit from Saint Nick! Then in the evening there will be a Tancház – basically a party with live music and traditional dancing. Always lots of fun! Tickets need to be bought in advance for the days activities (link for tickets and info here). For the Tancház, tickets may be purchased at the door for $15. There will be dance instructors from Hungary leading the night, so don’t worry if you don’t know the steps, you will soon learn them! The night starts at 7pm at, 213 E 82nd Street, New York, NY.

Oh and now that we are starting the festive season, Art of Melush has released “fillable” digital cards for the holidays! Now you can check off that holiday card list by downloading a card which can be filled over and over so that you can personalize messages and email them to all your friends, colleagues and loved ones. No waiting for the post! Images are taken from a screen printed series by artist Melinda McCarthy and are only $1 for a re-usable file! Plus Sugo has made his version free so you can practice (he has even given photo instructions on his product page!) Check them out here.

But most exciting of all, starting December, just in time for the festive season, Art of Melush will be launching Storytelling Saturdays! These will be aired on the Art of Melush YouTube Channel and will feature different paintings by Melinda McCarthy, discussing the stories behind them. Often people ask, what is this painting about? What is the inspiration behind it? Have all questions answered in these fun animations as Sugo and the “Green One” take you on a journey through each piece.

There is also much more in developmental stages on it’s way, with art, music, performance, and animation. Stay tuned and enjoy the festive season!
